India has commissioned a new high-altitude military airbase in Ladakh, just 14 miles from the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China, marking a major expansion of New Delhi’s border infrastructure. Built at an elevation of 13,700 feet, the Mudh-Nyoma Air Force Station features a 1.7-mile runway, new hangars, an ATC tower, crash bay, and upgraded accommodation for personnel. <br /> <br />Constructed by India’s BRO at a cost of $25 million, the facility can host large military transport aircraft and advanced fighters, giving India a significant strategic boost in the region. <br /> <br />The development comes even as India-China relations show signs of gradual improvement following years of heightened tensions.
